This is free and similar to Book2, with 42 languages but they have audio in only 18 languages. It shows single words, not phrases. Content is donated by participants, so it varies. You cannot suppress spelling in the target language, so you cannot learn just by ear.
Audio is computer-generated and seems quite good for the languages where it is available, though I noticed it omitted the "x" of "dix-huit" in French 18, 19, 78, 79, 98 and 99. LanguageGuide and Livemocha pronounce it in all those numbers.
You click each word (spelled in the target language) often enough to learn it, then can click the "learn," "speller" and "test" buttons, all of which are tests.
They provide explanations in 8 languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish.
